Inquiry is not something special or unusual to do – we can think of it as a method, as a practice, but it is really the development of a natural capacity that our consciousness inherently possesses.

When we are committed to the practice of inquiry, it will eventually become a functioning that happens on its own, with its own momentum. At the same time, it makes the rest of our life richer and helps us become more effective and capable. The more we understand ourselves, the freer we are and the more our love, our intelligence, and our capacities are liberated to express the fullness of who we are.

– from the epilogue (edited)

From the very beginning, we are introduced to inquiry as the main tool in the Diamond Approach. Time and over again, we are asked to “start where we are” as the entry point into our experience – which, given the time and space, will unfold naturally and reveal its deeper layers. More than a simple tool or method however, inquiry is ultimately a way to encounter all of life … and therefore a work in progress.

When you look at your own inquiry process, you may have noticed that it has evolved over time – as it should have. Certain impasses and issues have come and gone, whereas others still show up at irregular intervals. In any case, as deceptively simple as it may appear at first glance, there is so much more to inquiry than meets the eye.
In this book group, organised by Ridhwan students for fellow students, we shall take a deep dive together into Spacecruiser Inquiry – a comprehensive tome dedicated to all things Diamond Inquiry. Regardless of where you are in your personal journey, working through the chapters in community will certainly, in one way or another, make you a more skilful navigator of your very own spacecruiser.
